Public Art for Clapham.: Public Event Invitation 16 Oct 2010

As part of ClaphamOne, a landmark regeneration scheme made possible through a dynamic Public Private Partnership, developers Cathedral Group are commissioning new public artworks for the considerably upgraded leisure and library complexes. In the spirit of urban regeneration, these artworks will celebrate past, present and future Clapham.

It is key for us as commissioners to interpret the collective values and aspirations of ClaphamOne community users whilst engendering local pride and ownership of the public artworks through community involvement in the creative process. This blog has been created as part of a wider public art consultation process.

Blog posts share information on the project and alert community members of upcoming creative consultation activities as well as document these events after the fact. And of course, we invite your feedback along the way.

We believe with community involvement we will succeed in commissioning a signature work of art for Clapham which is sophisticated, robust, accessible and site specific to this very special part of London.
